The Rural Health Management of Information System is designed for providing Health Related Services in rural areas, specifically targeting women, pregnant women, new born children and women requiring postnatal follow up. In case of children, the primary considerations are immunization, treating sick children of ages below 5. In addition to the various aspects such as family planning program implementation and follow up are covered by RHMIS. The user has to input basic data when the project starts and from the day one on words RHMIS starts data collection, compilation and reporting analysis.

Based on the data collected, periodical reports required by various agencies are generated. This is on regular basis.

The RHMIS is a whole some system covering the initial database creation up to the final point of reporting without involving any manual operation. This means the human error which is always contributing to weakening of the accuracy and reliability of the information produced, is totally eliminated.

The outstanding feature of the software is that it is totally in Tamil.

Further, it is easily portable to other Indian Languages.
